I have been wanting to make blankets for the Children's hospital for some time now and have finally got going on them. Here are 3 that are finished and hopefully I will be able to get some more done before the holidays... we'll see!!!
The baking has begun and I will posting some of my favs if anyone wants to try them!
Ginger Cookies... they are fantastic!!!! * 2 cups sugar * 1 1/2 cups margarine or butter softened * 1/2 cup molasses * 2 eggs * 4 1/2 cups flour * 3 tsps baking soda * 1/2 tsp salt * 2 tsps cinnamon * 1 tsp cloves * 1 tsp ginger * 1/2 tsp nutmeg * Sugar for rolling
Beat sugar, butter, molasses and eggs until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap & refrigerate for 1 hr. Heat oven to 350. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookies. For those of you who have baking stones, I highly recommend using them, the cookies always turn out better. Bake at 350 for 8-12 minutes or until set. The cookies will puff then flatten out during baking and have a crinkled look to them. Cool 1 minute before removing from sheet/stone. This recipe makes about 10 dozen and can be frozen up to 6 months.
Well as you all know, baby Ward is well on the way. We had an ultrasound this week and everything went well. Baby is very active, kicking alot and was a bit stubborn during the photoshoot, skocking I know! I am not feeling a whole lot of movement yet, but I am sure that will happen shortly! Anyways, thought we would give you a peek at our new addition...
Made the best perogies today with Danielle, Erin & Chanelle. This was my first time making them and I have a whole new appreciation for homemade perogies...it's ALOT of work! But all very worth it. Andrew did a great job of cookin' them tonight for dinner too...yummy!
